Church Activities

The church is a busy place for 10 months of the year, with many activities held in the evening. We focus on mediumship and healing, and helping people make the connection to Spirit that comes from learning how to quiet the mind's constant chatter.

The following regular activities are open to the public:

Sundays from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
  • Regular service with a speaker, healing, mediumship and music.
  • Refreshments and fellowship follow the service.
Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.
  • A Course in Miracles drop-in study group.(Suggested contribution $5.00)
Wednesdays from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
  • Healing.
Wednesdays from 7:30-8:45 p.m.
  • All Message Service - mediumship.
Fridays at 7:30 p.m. sharp
  • Evening meditation group(Suggested contribution $5.00)

Explore your psychic gifts, share the spiritual journey and challenges of life, and make friendships with like-minded people.

NOTE: Sunday and Wednesday services are held throughout the summer but most groups choose not to meet during July and August.

To register for all other workshops - call the Church at 403.283.1102 or email info@calgaryfirstspiritualistchurch.ca. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all workshops. Be sure to register early for some of these activities because they tend to fill up very quickly.

Seminars usually offered:

Introduction to Mediumship
Cost: Members: $140.00, Non-Members: $150.00
this is a weekend intensive course on beginning mediumship. Participants will have an opportunity to explore their psychic abilities and prepare for communication with Spirit. This is the first step in developing your potential as a medium or discovering the joy of mediumship. Class size is limited so it is best to register early. A manual is included in the cost.

Orientation Course in Modern Spiritualism
Cost: Free of Charge
Rev. Ella Groves will be teaching a one day program that covers an overview of the Religion, Science and Philosophy of Spiritualism. The orientation program is a requirement for those wishing to apply for church mediumship, but everyone is welcome to attend.

Séance Circle(s)
Cost: Members: $30.00, Non-Members: $35.00
This provides an actual séance experience. Each person will haventity or entities that are with them described and spirit messages will be revealed.. The leader has a high level of success in making contact when requests are made to speak to specific individuals from the Spirit World.
